English Premiership: What we have learnt from 2015-2016 English Premiership season.

It’s the end of another premiership season and boy, what a season we just had. It was interesting as always but also produced a shocker to the football world. “Leicester City, champions of England”, Are you kidding me? Where were the likes of Arsenal, Liverpool, Tottenham, Manchester clubs & Chelsea?
Did I just mention Chelsea? They showed us the worst way to defend the premiership title. Let’s take a look at what we learnt from the just concluded season.

Never give up in pursuit of your goals.

Do you know Claudio Ranieri? He is the Italian who sojourned Europe in search of success in his managerial career but always came short so much that he was tagged the “nearly man”. Finally, he has broken the jinx and what a way to do it by winning his first League title with Leicester City after 30 years of his managerial career in football. Remember WWE John Cena’s catchphrase, “Never give up”.

Chelsea FC had the worst title defense ever.

Most football fans believed that the reunion between Jose Mourinho & Chelsea FC was a perfect match made in heaven after he came back for a second stint but after securing the title in the 2014 – 2015 season what followed in the subsequent season can only be described as utter disaster. By December 2015, Mourinho aka the “Happy one” had lost more home matches in five months than in his previous 13 years in football management after a home defeat to newly promoted Bournemouth. For most part of Mourinho’s final reign, Chelsea FC flirted with the relegation zone until Guus Hindink was hired to salvage the season.

Arsenal and their mentality problems.

I just wonder when Arsenal FC will have the right mentality to win the league which Arsene Wenger claimed they lacked a times. In a season where the elite teams decided to forfeit the title, you could be forgiven to think that they would capitalize but no, they didn't. How I wish my magic wand could work on those Arsenal lads so that come next season there wouldn’t be any excuse.

The emergence of exciting young talents.

The future of the premier league clubs is surely in safe hands as long as they continue to churn out exciting youngsters in their abundance as it where this past season. The likes of Kelechi Iheanacho, Anthony Martial, Dele Alli and Marcus Rashford all made their marks with their respective clubs. May this long continue.

You could share your thoughts on what you have learnt from the just concluded premiership season in the comments section.
